In Belém, for a global response to measures tending to criminalize social movements

From January 27 to February 1, 2009, Belém hosted the World Social Forum. For its 7th edition, 100,000 participants traveled to the Amazonian city located in the northeast of Brazil. Since its creation, the Forum has evolved into an open space where social movements and the rest of civil society meet to exchange experiences and express themselves freely. The goal is to develop alliances and find avenues of action to build a fairer world.
