Justice & Peace and Magma asbl bring together citizens and future elected politicians to talk about migration.
On Thursday February 21, the Justice and Peace associations and Magma asbl organized a political debate between citizens and representatives of the main French-speaking parties on the theme “For solidarity migration!” ". Around a hundred participants came to question their future elected politicians on the theme of migration in view of the Belgian federal elections in May 2019.
The debate evening is part of a longer-term approach undertaken by our associations. On November 24, we brought together more than 40 young people and nearly a hundred citizens for a day of reflection on migration. During this day, several workshops were organized on different themes related to migration. The participants were able to obtain information, exchange information and formulate recommendations that they wish to address to their (future) representatives. It is the result of these workshops which served as a basis for the questions in our debate.
